Travis Vernier graduated magna cum laude from Oklahoma City University School of Law as a Merit Scholar. While in law school, Travis won CALI Excellence Awards for the highest scoring grades in his class in Civil Procedure ILegal Research and Writing IITrial Practice, and Corporations law.

Travis was selected as a Staff Editor for the Oklahoma City Law Review and was inducted into numerous honor societies, including Phi Kappa Phi and the International Legal Honor Society of Phi Delta Phi. Travis completed internships with several law firms, including a firm that focuses on the defense of healthcare providers and first responders. He also served as a judicial extern for the Chief Judge of the Oklahoma County District Court. 

Sensing a call to help other, Travis joined his local volunteer fire department in high school and later became a full-time police officer in Oklahoma City. As a detective, he specialized in investigating crimes against children. Throughout his career, he received several awards for his heroic actions, including a life saving award and his department's highest mark of distinction, the medal of honorTravis also earned the Committee of 100's H.K. "Tony" A Calvert Award for bravery. After over a decade of service, Travis honorably retired as Detective Sergeant and co-founded Bennett | Vernier with Les Bennett.

Travis is a Certified Force Science® Analyst, a member of the Defense Research Institute and is licensed to practice law in Oklahoma and Kansas. He holds a bachelor's degree in Politics and Law from Southern Nazarene University. Travis and his wife attend church in northwest Oklahoma City. In his spare time, Travis loves road biking.
